Importing from BigOven, step by step

You'll need: recipe links (or an old .bxr/.csv file)

  1. 1

Get your recipes out of BigOven

BigOven doesn't offer a 'download all my recipes' button, so we bring them over by their links.

  2. 2

On bigoven.com, open your recipe box, right-click each recipe and choose Copy link (or open it and copy the address bar).

  3. 3

Paste the links, one per line, into Import → Paste URLs.

  4. 4

    Open Import → Paste URLs

Tap Import in the top menu and choose Paste URLs.

  5. 5

    Paste your links

Paste one recipe web address per line, up to 500 at a time. We fetch each page, read its recipe and save the photo so it never goes missing.

  6. 6

    Check the preview and save

Untick anything that isn't a recipe, choose a new or existing cookbook and tap Save. Pages behind a login or paywall can't be read, so screenshot those instead.

Good to know

  • Got an old .bxr or .csv file from the BigOven desktop software? Upload it on Upload a file instead.
  • Recipes only you can see (private) need a screenshot instead.
