Import your recipes from Google Keep.
Turn recipes trapped in Google Keep into structured, editable RecipeFiler recipes.
How to import from Google Keep
- 1Go to Google Takeout (takeout.google.com).
- 2Select Keep only → Create export.
- 3Download the zip — each note becomes an individual .html or .txt file.
- 4Drop any .txt note here (headings like "Ingredients" and "Method" auto-detected).
- 5Final step: Come back to this page and click "Upload your file" on the right (or below on mobile). Pick the file you just exported and we'll parse every recipe automatically.
Frequently asked
Is the import free?
Yes. Importing recipes is always free — even for anonymous visitors. You only need an account to save what you import to your permanent cookbook shelf.
Will my Google Keep photos come with me?
Yes. Where photos are embedded (Paprika, Mela, Recipe Keeper, Cookmate, Evernote) we extract them from the file. Where they're linked via URL, we fetch and rehost them to our own storage so they never break — even if the source site goes down.
How does deduplication work?
Every import compares title + first ingredient against your existing recipes in the target cookbook. Exact matches are skipped. We show you the skip count when the import finishes so you can spot anything unexpected.
How big an import can I do?
Files up to 50 MB and URL batches up to 500 at a time. That's typically enough for a decade of home cooking. Need more? Contact us at contactus@recipefiler.com.
