Import your recipes from the web.

Paste any recipe URL — NYT Cooking, BBC Good Food, Serious Eats, personal blogs — and we'll rehost the photo so it never breaks.

How to import from the web

  1. 1Open the recipe page you want to save.
  2. 2Copy the full URL.
  3. 3Paste it in on the /try page (or up to 500 URLs on /import).
  4. 4We'll fetch schema.org data, rehost the hero, and give you a fully editable recipe.
  5. 5Final step: Come back to this page and click "Paste URLs" on the right (or below on mobile). Paste your URLs in the textarea and hit "Fetch recipes".

Frequently asked

Is the import free?

Yes. Importing recipes is always free — even for anonymous visitors. You only need an account to save what you import to your permanent cookbook shelf.

Will my the web photos come with me?

Yes. Where photos are embedded (Paprika, Mela, Recipe Keeper, Cookmate, Evernote) we extract them from the file. Where they're linked via URL, we fetch and rehost them to our own storage so they never break — even if the source site goes down.

How does deduplication work?

Every import compares title + first ingredient against your existing recipes in the target cookbook. Exact matches are skipped. We show you the skip count when the import finishes so you can spot anything unexpected.

How big an import can I do?

Files up to 50 MB and URL batches up to 500 at a time. That's typically enough for a decade of home cooking. Need more? Contact us at contactus@recipefiler.com.
