Import your recipes from Pepperplate.
Pepperplate shut down in 2022 — rescue your recipes with screenshots or paste-text.
How to import from Pepperplate
- 1If you still have Pepperplate open somewhere, screenshot each recipe.
- 2If you only have your notes / printouts, snap a photo of those.
- 3Drop the images on our /scan page — one recipe per scan is fine.
- 4Our OCR + AI rebuilds each one as a fully editable recipe.
- 5Final step: Come back to this page and click "Open Scan" on the right (or below on mobile). Drop your screenshots one at a time — our OCR rebuilds each one into a fully editable recipe.
Frequently asked
Is the import free?
Yes. Importing recipes is always free — even for anonymous visitors. You only need an account to save what you import to your permanent cookbook shelf.
Will my Pepperplate photos come with me?
Yes. Where photos are embedded (Paprika, Mela, Recipe Keeper, Cookmate, Evernote) we extract them from the file. Where they're linked via URL, we fetch and rehost them to our own storage so they never break — even if the source site goes down.
How does deduplication work?
Every import compares title + first ingredient against your existing recipes in the target cookbook. Exact matches are skipped. We show you the skip count when the import finishes so you can spot anything unexpected.
How big an import can I do?
Files up to 50 MB and URL batches up to 500 at a time. That's typically enough for a decade of home cooking. Need more? Contact us at contactus@recipefiler.com.
