Soluble fibre
OtherAlso known as: viscous fibre
A form of dietary fibre that dissolves in water to form a gel-like substance in the digestive tract, helping to slow digestion and stabilise blood sugar levels. It is found in oats, pulses, flaxseed, and many fruits and vegetables. For those following a Crohn's-friendly diet, soluble fibre is generally better tolerated than insoluble fibre during flare-ups.
