  • 150 g light brown sugar

  • 0.5 tsp salt

  • 150 g unsalted butter — melted

  • 1 tbsp milk

  • 200 g chocolate — of choice: milk / dark (70%) / white, chopped

Instructions

Step by step

    Heat oven to 180°C / 160°C fan. Line 2 trays.

    Mix oats, flour, sugar, bicarb, salt. Stir in melted butter, syrup and milk to a crumbly dough.

    Roll into walnut-size balls, flatten to 5mm thick discs. Space apart.

    Bake 12- until golden at edges. Cool , then fully on rack.

    Melt chocolate gently. Dip one side of each cooled hobnob or spread thickly on top. Set on parchment until firm.
