800 g swede — peeled and cubed
50 g butter
1 tsp salt
0.5 tsp black pepper — freshly ground

Instructions
Step by step

Place the swede cubes in a large saucepan and cover with cold water. Add half the salt.

Bring to the boil over high heat, then reduce to a simmer and cook for 20– until very tender when pierced with a knife.

Drain thoroughly and return the swede to the hot pan.

Add the butter and the remaining salt, then mash until smooth using a potato masher.
